The video I created, “Setups,” documents the process of establishing the exhibition “Melting Point,” presented at the Museum of Islamic Art in Jerusalem, as part of 0.01 Contemporary Metalsmithing and Jewelry Events (December 25, 2025-February 14, 2026).
At the melting point, the encounter between fire and matter generates transformation. We seek to approach the works as fire approaches matter, until an encounter occurs, until a “fusion” forms between the observer and the work. Shachar Cohen and I sought to isolate and singularize this encounter by covering all the works with white cotton fabrics to create a space that would evoke the imagination toward a wide world of images.
The space contains sixty-two works, sixty-two stories waiting to be revealed – and invites the viewer to come closer, draw aside the curtain, observe, and connect.
